If you did, you will remember that after a little while an oval "scratch" became part of your display. WELL... On my MPx220, which is about a month old, I have 4 horizontal lines across the display that lines up perfectly with the raised keys. MORONS! This in my opinion is pretty shi**y design. As much as I like this phone, I find this problem one of the largest to date. I'm contacting Motorola today and complaining to see what they say. Guest Foxman Posted November 16, 2004 Report Share Posted November 16, 2004 I have been carrying a MPx220 for about 4 months now and have not seen this on any of the engineering samples or final hardware. How are you transporting it? If you are applying pressure on the flip, the little rubber "stops" wil be crushed and not stop the keypad from rubbing on the lense. I would think that after the obvious problems they had in the past, they would just recess the damn keys! What the hell?!?!!? Anyway... I'll post pics tomorrow. I'm going to also take a pic of the v60 to show what I'm talking about in comparison. I'm not happy about this at all... Guest Foxman Posted November 17, 2004 Report Share Posted November 17, 2004 My guess is that it is from carrying it in your pocket. Look at the top of the flip when it is open. You will see that it is designed to prevent this from occuring. There are two rubber "stops" that keep the flip from resting all of the way down on the keys. Also when using the phone alot, skin oil gets deposited onto the screen, after a couple calls I get a complete keyboard imprint including a perfect circle for the round blue button, so I know ALL the keys touch the screen, I reccomend WrightWrights screen protectors for PDA's the smaller Palm and older PDA protectors can be found for $5-$6 at CompUSA and best buy on the clearance shelves and you can cut them to fit. SO I have horizontal lines running all the way across the display. I think there's about 4 of them so far. Foxman: I reaize that the two rubber stops are SUPPOSED to stop this from happening, but obviously they're not doing a good job. If you can't carry the phone in your pocket, um... well... If you run a straight edge like a ruler or a cd case across the phone's keys (hold the edge left to right), it catches at each row of keys.
