media player discussion

well. one of my first priorities for my jam was ordering a new 1gb sd card so that i could carry hideous ammouns of music around with me. i have been trying out windows media player (built in jobbie) and pocket music and so far am leaning towards wondows media.

several things about both annoy me. firstly is the cumbersome navigation through files to find the album you want. i want to be able to select music while i am walking down the street and both players make this rather difficult. i think on average windows media is slightly better.

pocket music at first appeared to be the bees knees for music on pocketpc. its clearly very popular and has so many features! that are essentially useless. it also seems to have tons of bugs. two big ones for me was the fact that the screen turn off automatically function (to save power) is terribly temprimental. it involved lots of fiddling each time you did something to get it to work!? also if you turn the player on while the system sound is off you have to turn it back on everytime a new track starts!

for now i have settled on windows. at the moment i am using the down button to toggle the screen on and off (very useful) and can use the left and right keys to skip through music (actually i just realised that i could put the screen toggle on the left button, and then keep up and down for volume. its not often i want to go back a track).

anybody else tried any of the others or have any thoughts on these two?

Hi

I have also bougth an HTC Magician in T-Mobile MDA Compact-Variation.

My opinion is that the new Media Player 10 is really improved over Media Player 9, especially if you have a Windows Media Center 2005, so I can easely synchronize recorded TV-Shows to my device...

The Navigation is a bit unlogical at first sight but now after a week I really like it...

For me, the Media Player is choice #1 (As the most other players have nice features which I would never use)
