Hi All.

I have an XDA IIs and cannot get the unit to beam anything to anyone..

I have paired with people and can dial into other phones and download anything they have on the phone but it will not give me any details to beam.

I click on any file on explorer and hold and select beam.. now on my old SPV which seems to use the same software this gives an option to align and then it states serching and displays any people with bluetooth in the list... this does nothing....

I realise the Bluethooth is getting updated in the next Patch that O2 are posting next but does anyone use any other software or am i doing anything wrong???

thanks again.

Sounds silly but do you actually have bluetooth ON when you try and beam? On my Imate Jam, it wont search for people via bluetooth (even though it says "searching") unless I actually have bluetooth turned on through settings before I select beam.

i have an XDA IIs too and cant send via BT.
i have my BT on, but "beam file" doesnt use the BT.. or at least it looks like that. coz a while ago, i had three discoverable devices which i wanted to send files to. but my XDA IIs just wont.

i can send files via BT using "browse files on a remote device"... unfortunately, it doesnt work on all devices. and it requires acceptance from the other party. you just cant simply send like you would on the XDA II or from any other phone for that matter..

There is a thread just started in the "Blue Angel" forum with people in a similar situation. It would seem that there are a few issues with the Bluetooth implementation on the device that have yet to be worked out. Lets hope they figure it out soon.

Also, with regards to beaming things, my mate has an XDAIIs and we have discovered that the device supports the "File Transfer" profile, but not the "OBEX" profile, which is the more popular profile used for beaming things. We could get his XDAIIs to beam to a D500 (which also has "File Transfer") but not to anything with "OBEX", like my I-Mate Jam. It would appear to be a profile issue I am thinking.
