  • Interests:The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

Someone was selling a quad band Dopod 818 (iMate Jam) on ebay. The price got alittle too high for me. ($650) If anyone knows where to buy them...please let me know. I need the Dopod and not the iMate as I require the 850 band for Cingular.

I question whether or not that is really a quad band... I mean, I have no idea myself... but based on what alot of people have said all over the net, it seems there are two different versions (one with 850/1800/1900 and one with 900/1800/1900). People say it's different hardware actually for the 850 vs 900 and these HTC phones don't have all four in one single device. I think some of the support forums on expansys.us has info on this.

Actually, if you look under the white 'Features' section it says '(Tri-band)'

Judging by that I was assuming that it was quad band...but only running triband at any one time:
850, 1800, 1900
or
900, 1800, 1900

...I (and the seller) am probably wrong. Those specs are probably dependant on which network is buying from dopod.

I'll take the ETEN M500 too.
Though I prefer the looks of the imate/dopod...The specs of the ETEN M500 are great as well....and is DEFINITELY Quad-Band.

And despite the link on msmobiles...it's only about 4mm bigger than the jam in each direction.

No Quad band Jams, just versions with 850 instead of 900.

I definitely prefer the Jam to the Eten I think...

I finally figured that out. I definitely like the jam over the eten, but without 850...it's worthless to me. So I'm on a quest for the eten.

Can anyone vouch for this company???

I actually prefer the look of the Eten. But four mm to me is actually a pretty big difference in size when thinking of devices this small

I like the look of the ETEN, it's slightly Ipaq 2210 in shape (and probably size). I think I will stick with my Jam though!

Actually it's about 3-4mm bigger than the jam in each direction. Definitely a possibility for me since it has the 850 band. If I can get one here in the US. But if the JAM cam along with 850 first. I'd have no problems buying that!
