I use Clearvue suite on my C500.  It contains a word, excel, powerpoint, image and pdf reader.

Not free, but does mean that you are able to read emailed attachments without the need to convert the files first.

I didn't know there was a version for Smartphone (as opposed to smartphones)

On the Adobe website ( http://www.adobe.com...readermain.html ) there are links for PocketPC, Palm, and Symbian.  Where did you get the Smartphone version from?

I interpreted adobe acrobat reader that was for Pocket PC windows mobile 2003 would be good for smartphones. I was wrong, for it failed.

I'll try clearvue and hopefully it will install on the I600.

ClearVue PDF only opens some PDF files. Any PDF file that has any security/encryption turned on will fail to open in ClearVue... customer support says they are on to the problem for the next release.
