Here's a theme based on the Panther G5 wallpaper for Mac, and a bunch of OSX icons! :D

It features a row of shortcuts along the top that uses the e200 plugin and media player plugin, scrolling appointments plugin by SullivanPT, Oxios tasks plugin, RJ shortcuts plugin, and DrFonz's smartmonitor plugin. Also some internet links again using the e200 plugin.

You can find links to download all the above plugins in THIS THREAD.

As this screen relies quite heavily on the e200 plugin, it will work on Orange e200 or c500 ONLY.

I have included a version B xml layout that uses the default calendar plugin for those who have not purchased the scrolling plugin (although I highly recommend you do! :D ).

Also, the scrolling appts plugin is configured to not scroll automatically, and is set to open Papyrus rather than the default calendar. If anybody needs any help changing these settings, just let me know!

Enjoy! :D

Thanks, but I don't really know about making another version. The design is pretty heavily reliant on the e200 plugin, and without it, the screen would lose the scrolling icons at the top, and the internet links. I'll have a look at how I can modify it, but the design would have to change significantly.

Really nice homescreen as usual! Is it possible to show the calendar appointments + all day appointments permantly @ the homescreen?? Otherwise i'll forget to scroll down to see my agenda... I hope you can create an alternative homescreen?

Well, if you wanted to acieve that you could just swap the allday appointments plugin and the message plugin in the scrolling section at the top. :D

I'm not quite sure what you mean - but I think you mean the screens have not returned to normal after removing the theme? If that is the case, then there is a cab file in the customisation forum stickies that resets all screens to default.

drblow, You said that this theme only works with e200 and c500 phones. Isn't the c500 essentially an SMT5600 and therefore should work on those like phones? I have an SP3i, which internally is just about the same as an SMT5600 and was wondering if it would work on this phone? Or does this mean they only work on the UK or European versions of the e200 and c500 phones? I'm kind of new to all this and I’m still in the learning process. Plus are those needed plugins included in the download or are there some I need to purchase or download separately? Also do the plugins install themselves or do I just need to place them in particular folder? If so, what folder? Thanks for any help. :D

The theme is for C500 or e200 only because it uses the Orange UK e200 plugin, which is only available on UK Orange ROMs. So the short answer is no, the theme won't work on your phone unless you install an Orange UK ROM.

The other plugins do need to be manually installed by you. Have a look in the help/advice forum about the first 48 hours with a smartphone for instructions on what/where/how to install various types of files.

Thanks for your quick response and where to look for my plugin question. I've seen other home screens and themes that you've done. They look really good. Do you create themes and home screens for my type of phone (US version i-mate sp3i)? If so send me links on where I can find them. Again thanks for you timely response... ;)

No problem! ;) I did a version in the alpha & mac osx themes for 2002 phones which should work on yours. Maybe a few others, but I can't really remember right now. It's the drugs, you know! :D Look through the threads, if I did 2002 versions they'll be included in the cab installer, so all you need to do is install all the necessary plugins, then install the cab file.

Nice. Really nice. I have a couple of questions though. How do I change the 'links' to the applications that are shown using one of the plugins. The missus really wants this on her phone but she doesn't use City Alarms, Papyrus, etc so how do I set these to the apps she uses? Also, I'm not sure that the Oxios plugin is working correctly on mine. I only installed the OxiosPluginsSetup, do I have to install the ToDolistsetup plugin as well? Or any of the OxiosFull or OxiosWindowsDefault plugins as well?

Thanks! ;)

To edit the shortcuts, just open the xml & find the RJshortcut code, then change the paths to reflect where the apps you want to open are (eg. Storage/windows/start menu/...)

The oxios plugin does work without installing the todolist app. If things are a bit odd on the screen, I usually siggest uninstall everything, then reinstall the plugins first, then the homescreen. If that doesn't fix it, let me know.

Very groovy Dr Blow! I have managed to sort that out but I have a couple of other questions. The fourth icon along the top row is called 'Missed Calls'. Does this simply display Missed Calls in the first box underneath the top row of icons? That seems to be all it does on mine. Would it be possible to set it up so clicking on this icon takes you to call history? Or am I missing something on this? Also my appointments bar has purple diagonal lines running across it and doesn't appear to be scrolling. I have switched to the 'B' mode and can see there is a difference. The purple diagonal lines remain on the home screen even when the appoinments bar isn't highlighted. Is this right? I may swap to the 'B' screen if this is the case - the purple lines are spoiling the appearance of the desktop. One final question - what is 'Sig' in the Smartmonitor plugin and is there anyway to change this to any of the other monitor function.

Good work fella.

The missed calls shortcut only allows you to access the call history if it actually showing a missed call. The display will show a number whenever you have a missed call, and you will then be able to click it to access call history. If there's no missed calls it is unclickable. I dunno how to change it if you can.

The purple lines in the calendar is the demo version of the scrolling appts plugin. If you purchase the plguin they will disappear.

Oh, and 'sig' is signal strength. You can change loads of settings in smartmonitor. have a look at the smartmonitor web page (sorry, don't have the link). Let me know if you need help editing it. ;)

Cheers dude. One final thing, when I first used sync yesterday the phone switched to a sync screen but then I couldn't return 'Home' after I disconnected. After much random button mashing I got returned to 'Home' but it was completely blank except a text message saying I had no Home screen installed. After a reboot this cleared but I don't get the sync screen now. Its no biggie, I just wondered whether you had seen this?

I have seen that and many other homescreen weirdnesses on my c500.  As long as it works on reboot then never worry, eh!?  ;)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah, I never really bothered with homescreens 'cos they killed my E100's and 200's constantly and I got fed up having to reinstall everything. Since having my C500 changed, whilst mulling over where I go phonewise I thought I would get jiggy with some homescreens. This panther one is the most 'radical' design IMO. I found your OSX one a bit crowded, the AppleSmartmonitor (sorry, forget the author) is nice and I would really like Dark(?) OSX theme with the chooser app to work properly.

Back to Panther! I have now switched to the 'B' theme 'cos I wasn't a fan of the scrolling version. Now the top row calendar icon and the appointments bar in the middle point to papyrus. But the missus doesn't use that - will it point to calendar.exe on her phone? Sounds odd I know, but I can't see anywhere in the 'B' xml that calls papyrus or calendar. Could you let me know how to sort that one out? One other thing I spotted. When I make a call I can see half of the top icon bar still - I assume this is because it is where the signal, aerial, BT and battery info are? Again no biggie but I wondered whether this was just on my phone. And finally, whilst not entirely related to your theme, when I get an incoming call I get that horrible orange wavy line thing from the CallerID app turning up. I can't remember how to turn this off - I have option I can see in CallerID under Orange. Is there a template for use with Panther, do you know how to turn if off or do I need to change it from template to photo and not assign any photos?

Peace, brer.
