Not available in stores .... but why would you want to wait to walk in to a shop and pay a fortune for something you can get online for a fraction of the cost?

Will have it tomorrow ... even before the Orange shops have them!

How? I called orange and they gave me the old spiel about it being under review and might be available in July or August!

Don't know how the mobile phone industry works... but I have ordered a C550 from a well known online supplier, who are shipping the unit to me today.

The offer I opted for (OVP Relax 100) has the handset for FREE and after line rental cashback results in me paying in total only £75.90.

As soon as I have the handset I will post my reactions ...

Cheers

Think I can guess who the supplier is.

Just hope they're not kidding about having stock because it wouldn't be the first time...

Has crossed my mind ... I'm not that niave to think that this particular supplier do actaully have the stock at the moment... I know about their unorthodox approach to order and supply!

What is odd though is the fact the order is showing as being complete (connected to the network) and has a despatch number!!!

Time will tell

So what are you actually saying here? Let's cut to the chase - have you ordered from OneStopPhoneShop?

I'd much rather pay more now than have future hassle with them lot.

But hey, you get your C550 tomorrow, I await your review with baited breath...

All I would say is that a bit of organisation and common sense will prevent any hassle with this particular online retailer. I had one minor skirmish with them a while ago, but other than that I have not had any problems receiving cashback etc... A few Alarm reminders and carefully filed documents and bills, sending the appropriate documentation by Signed For postal service and everything runs quite smoothly ... certainly not a hassle!

For every bad report I am sure there is a good one. Trouble with the net is that when you get a cluster of bad reports, particularly in messageboards and forums, it gives the impression that the retailer should be avoided. Often there is no balance to the overall impression.

Eg....Lots of people have problems with Ebuyer ...myself included, on a couple of occassions. However out of all the orders I have placed with Ebuyer I have had more positive outcomes than negative... At the end of the day I want value for money... I would never achieve this by going to my local PC World!

If you have the money ... let them take it from you.

But you've still gone from 'I'm getting my C550 tomorrow' to 'time will tell' in the space of a few posts. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

But hey, if you want value for money...

I thought everyone wanted value for money ... or do you shop at Harrods for your bread and milk?

If it arrives tomorrow .. great... if not I bet it will arrive before Orange CS and Orange Shops get the basic information correct let alone actually having them in stock or available to order!

Must say that my experiences of OneStopPhoneShop have been very good although I've never sort cashback from them, instead going for the lower tariffs to begin with.

There WAS however the week or two I had to wait for them to get in stock of MDA IIIs back in January when I bought my precious from them...

Value for money sure, but I for one prefer good service.

You get what you pay for - when I'm in Harrods next I'll pick up some peanuts. :)
