Guest Wastedyuthe
Hi peeps. At the moment I own a C500 and love playing Virtual Pool Mobile on it. I may upgrade to the C550 soon, and have read that many programs run at half (or round-abouts) the screen size due to the phones higher resolution. Can anyone confirm if Virtual Pool Mobile has the same problem. Thanks
Guest Simon Desser
I'm afraid I can't get it to run at all on my C550 :) On the full version I can't get my reg code put in, the cursor goes all over the place and sometimes selects a number all by itself :?: Also I keep getting bits of my homescreen popping up into the screen :?: I also tried the demo, but it seems to have a mind of it's own, I can't navigate around it and it keeps bouncing out of menus, then buttons don't seem to work :?: Anyway, assuming you could get it to work, then it would just use the middle portion of the screen like most other games. EDIT:- On my other phone I've noticed there's an option to change the Render Mode from GAPI to GDI, which might solve the problems, BUT I can't get to it to change it on my C550 :D Edited July 22, 2005 by Simon Desser
Guest Wastedyuthe
Blimey! Looks like this C550 isn't what it's cracked up to be- there doesn't seem to be much that does work with it. I love this game- in fact I took my pool game off my PC and just play this one now, that's how much I like it. I was thinking of upgrading to the C550 mainly due to the 'Tsss' noise problem of the C500 (listening to music or video with headphones)- which has apparently been fixed for the C550. But I want my pool game too. Maybe I'll just keep the C500 for now, and buy a seperate dedicated MP3 player. Thanks for the info :)
Guest mavisdavis
Simon Install it on your C500 then copy the folders across to your c550. also try copying the 3 file in Storage/My Documents

Would I need to reinstall, or would creating a shortcut to it on the storage card work?
Guest Simon Desser
Nope, 'fraid that doesn't work either (I actually tried that first before re-installing it) :) I reckon changing the settings from GAPI to GDI might be the answer but I can't even get passed the registration page :?:
Guest mr_nice!
I have emailed the cleris dudes and they haven't even heard of a c550 but they are going to look into it pretty quickly and asked if I would help beta the game. This is what they said Hopefully the processor speed increased as well, otherwise it may have a hard time running VPM on the bigger screen. Updating VPM to new devices is a top priority for us, so hopefully we will have an update soon. The first step will be a beta test, so if you are interested in that, let me know. What is the scoop on the processor is it any faster to help with the increase in screen size???? nice
Guest Radeon12345
Unfortunately the C550 has the same CPU as the C500 ( 200 MHz ) Have no idea why they didn't stick a faster CPU in there, something like a 300mhz or 400mhz would have been awesome :D Don't think the higher res screen should slow that game much, might be unnoticeable :)

Surely it would make a difference to games like flux challenge? (which incidently is awsome). Indeed a faster CPU would be sweet.
