M500 - Individual Ring Tones

Hi all

I'm seriously considering a M500 - a little concerned by the screen/key lock issues but I'm mostly OK with them now.

However I've just found this post from last year:

Is there no 'native' support for multiple ring tones (either on a per contact or per group / category basis)??

I find it very useful to know who's calling by the ring tone, and find it hard to beleive that it's not possible on a M500

Does anyone use this? - Can they confirm if it will work on the M500?

Or are there any alternatives out there??

You can use Photo Contacts which comes with the phone to set individual ring tones per contact.

As far as I can tell there is no way to add a rington to a group though.

Thanks Digger - that's a good start

Does the Photo Contacts (which I assume allows you to put images against contacts as well) interface with Outlook 2003 when you Active Sync (as Outlook 2003 has an image attached to each contact as well)?

Also, do the ring tones assigned using Photo Contacts show up in Outlook anywhere following an Active Sync?

I don't have outlook 2003, so I don't know about that.

I don't see photos or ringtones in Outlook 2002.

Maybe someone with Outlook 2003 can claify this.

Photo contacts uses the contacts from the phone, so all contacts are synced with outlook.

Personally I wouldnt touch photo contacts with a barge pole.

Get MortRing, its free, it works, and its by Mort.
