Category :: Smartphone Homescreens QVGA

Description ::

Hi,

I have modified the QVGA kl1wdr-Orange-ish homescreen available from http://smartphone.kleinweder.ch/downloads/showone.php?id=130 to use on my SPV C550

The 5 internet shortcuts are:

1. Google search for mobile

2. Google local for mobile

3. Froogle for mobile (UK, but you can easily change it to US)

4. Skweezer (reformat and compress websites for mobile)

5. Wikipedia for mobile

I think I took the graphics for those icons from Gant. I also included a few additional internet icons, which could be suitable for other websites. Also, just in case it is not obvious, the message counters are for sms, mms, email.

1. Unzip the attached file, and copy the whole content to \Storage\Application Data\Home\ on your phone.

2. Pick a colour under the \Storage\Application Data\Home\Facade\ directory, and copy the files to the folder above.

3. When you select the Facade-ish homescreen, select the relevant colour scheme for best effect (Default colour scheme will also work with all backgrounds)

Have a look at the xml code for the homescreen, there is quite a lot of customisation you can make here. For example: changing the shortcuts, including a shortcut to automatically launch your outlook inbox; or use other plugins instead of the profile plugin (CellProfileSwitcher, HILAlarm).

Update to v1.5

Slight change to the layout, with clock on the left. I also got rid of the bold text for selected items, and instead added some nice background bars.

There is a slight misalignement on the background bars if you check carefully, but I had to do those graphics in a hurry. When I get time, I will try to do them better. Anyway, it is small enough to get unnoticed.

I forgot to mention that this homescreen requires the free (while in beta) Facade plugin, available from http://www.sbsh.net/forums - so grab it while you can.

hi arman68,

which plugin do we need? and where exactly can we get it?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You need the free facade plugin. BTW, if you want the latest version of this homescreen, head over to SBSH forum (that's where you can get facade as well): http://www.sbsh.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=5933 (BTW I hopefully will update it tomorrow with a better icon for mms)

Long overdue update

version 1.8

I had not updated it since version 1.5, so there are quite a lot of changes. All graphics are now correctly aligned, there is a new internet shortcuts page, colours have been redesigned, icons for counters, etc...

version 1.9

* fixed short date format (blame the plugin documentation that specifies D instead of d, and a few other things like that)

* change mms icon to a much better one

* remove voicemail icon since there is already a specific icon in the top bar when there is voicemail, and orange improperly communicate the number of voicemails

* align message counter icons with facade tabs (looks much neater)

* slightly modified the profile information + background alignment

* modified the background bars colours for profile and message info to better match the facade selected colours

* internally modified the CellProfileSwitcher and HILAlarm plugin section, to make it easy to use those plugins (uncommenting one of them, and commenting out the profile plugin should be all that's needed).

version 2.0

Now comes in 4 different colours! In the process I had to change a few things to make it easier to switch from one colour set to another. This means, before copying this version to your phone, please make sure you delete the previous version.

* 4 different backgrounds: orange, pink, green, blue

* completely redesigned the orange colour scheme, and made 4 additional colour schemes: blue, green, pink, to match the new backgrounds; also made an additional grey colour scheme to blend reasonably well with all backgrounds and made it the default. Moved the "coloured" schemes to their own files (selectable from the homescreen menu)

* removed all boundary boxes around plugins (they were hiding some important background details)

* added the internet icons which I forgot in the previous version

* renamed the homescreen to Facade-ish

* optimized the graphics by removing all of the headers (IPTC, XMP), they are now much smaller and take up less memory

Does not seem like much, but it's lots of work to come up with good colour schemes I hope there is enough colour choice to keep everyone happy now.

The most recent version will always be released on Facade forums: http://www.sbsh.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=5933

I made this QVGA homescreen for my C550. But since it is running WM2003SE, I am not sure it works correctly on WM2005.

Could anyone test it on WM2005 and let me know what needs adjusting?
