Guest kurt44 Posted October 5, 2005 Report Share Posted October 5, 2005 Hi all, I v just got my M2000 from orange. I tried to use it as a remote control with NR Deluxe, but it was not working. Guest Pondrew Posted October 5, 2005 Report Share Posted October 5, 2005 Haven't used my MDA III as a remote but thought it was capable (unlike the Smartphones where the IR is not wired that way). With regards beaming files did you make sure to go into Settings / Connections / Beam and tick "Receive all incoming beams"? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When I tried to use NR Deluxe, only the volume up and down bottons are working. Its really strange. I still have no idea what should I do. Further help are needed! Cheers! Guest fraser Posted October 6, 2005 Report Share Posted October 6, 2005 The IR device in most IRDA capable devices is not up to the task of sending consumer IR. It can emulate it, but the range is poor. When I tried several programs, the best I could manage was 0.5 to 1 m range. Useless. I remember seeing someone do an adapter that plugged into the headphone socket. This would turn sound to IR for it's own custom software. Apparently it worked quite well.
