Eclipse for WM5 QVGA Smartphones

Apologies for the slight delay in this version folks, but I finally got around to doing this patch

The exe goes in the folder that Eclipse installed to on the phone - if you want it to work from the installed shortcut then just rename the old exe to something else, then rename this patched version Eclipse.exe

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS FOR THE FULL VERSION ONLY, NOT THE DEMO

[EDIT]

thanks to the patience of Kam and his testing, attached is a new version that fixes the bugs previously found

[/EDIT]

enjoy,

muff

Hmmm

i know it doesnt work with the demo files but i tried it anyway.. It says this is not a valid windows CE file.. That sugests there's a problem with the exe itself, before it checked to see if it had been activated? Don't make me dig out my n1 to play it.. please!

yup! and of course it didnt work because of some missing api in the dll.. Anyway.. i'm off to buy it :)

EDIT:

It works, but i got to the end of level 1 and it exited by itself, Odd i'll try again and let you know.

Same thing at exactly the same point.

It says something about a large enemy object detected, then it just appears on the right, and the game exits to the home screen. This is v1.3 from handango, 1 day old with your updated WM5 exe.

I'm about to hard reset now after testing out lots of software, so i'll let you know if it happens on a clean install.

nice to see eclipse on my SP5 :)

not yet played to the end of level 1 so cannot coment on the above problem .

only question i have is on the bottom of the screen i get a white dotted line is there a way to remove it so the whole screen is covered ?

hmm, will look into, probably an artifact of the scaling code, should be an easy fix - thanks for letting me know

k guys, fixes on the way soon

[EDIT]

the bottom line is fixed, however the crash at the end of the level is proving more elusive

thanks to Kam for some further testing

but it's going to take a little time to find this one - debugging without a target device is never easy :/

please bear with me folks

yeah, the scaling mode is different, so this version looks far nicer

I'm still hunting the bug down I'm afraid, but it's proving elusive ;)

and without an actual device I can't actually replicate the problem here, which is making things tough [ tho a big thanks goes to Kam for his patience in doing tests for me ]

will keep you informed

well it was first compiled on a Wednesday and under a bad moon apparently :S

the short answer is that I didn't know what was causing it, and dont know why it's now fixed - which is not something any programmer is ever happy acknowledging really, but it's true

it's one of those cases where the crashing made no sense - but after trying some different compiler options and then reworking the scaling code to stop memory thrashing (basically it's hardcoded into the screen update instead of calling a more general purpose function every frame) the stars aligned and all is apparently well again

:)

p.s. it does appear that the emulator and actual live phone are different tho (suprise suprise) as I could not replicate the crash here
