this is my version:
Operator: 4.20.13349.0
Manufacturer: 43.0.0.0
Microsoft: 4.20.13349.0
Language: 4.20.13349.0
File System: 4.20.13349.0
Radio: R4.0.4 MBE44087-01 P2

is it convenient to bump the rom to other version (i.e. R45) :??:
if yes, onces i get the rom, which is the method to flash the phone :??:
did you hear something about the mio 8390 service pack 2 :??:  what does it do :??:
and what about this cab: NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab :??:
too much question I know..

I'd flash only if you can't run unsigned applications, because newer ROMs have fixed that. Sorry no instructions.
Service pack 2 - only thing I heard is simply modified ROM, someone called it service pack. It's a ROM with some chineese shortcuts removed and maybe some other tweaks.
NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab is .NET Compact Framework - don't bother as your phone already has .NET CF preinstalled in ROM. Only WM2002 phones do not have it, but then I don't know if they can install this cab, I asked once but nobody answered.
Someone once wrote you can't install .NET CF because it needs to be in ROM, I don't believe it, there is registry for all king of settings and configurations, I'd say you could install .NET CF on WM2002 phone but it would require some tweaking or
adding some missing registry entries. I see no reason why this shouldn't work.

Last advice is to sell Mitac before it gets broken, like mine did Now are the times of WM5 QVGA Smartphones with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi built in  8) which means Mitac is out of the game (at least for now)

oh no schriss you device was broken?
I'm sorry.

I was luckier than you (even if now i'm from the DARK SIDE since i have 2 palm and a symbian device)
