Hello Everyone, I bought a MDA II Compact from T-mobile in GERMANY and It comes in German and I'm not really good with german and would love to switch over to English. I've tried all the step with ROM updating with HTC_Magician and none of them work with my device. So does anyone have any tips for the kid?

the production rom is on there for the mda compact 2 and should be the english version. puzzling how though it says its the production rom dated 08.12.05 yet the rom installed on mine is 14.11.05 ?

dates wrong on the website. Rom is dated 14.11.05 once its installed and its definately english!

Thanks Dave, I tried that and it almost worked but I got a BIG FAT ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID

I think they don't want me to change the Language..lol
I'm pretty sure someone knows a way around this problem???

Hi,

look at the forum of the Bad Link. There is a tool which makes the update without checking the vendor ID.

But I have a similar prolbem like you. I would need a german rom to flash my english mda c II :-)

Has somebody any idea how to get a german one?

You could use typhoonnbftool to change the headers id, not sure what you'd need to change it to, to match the german mdacs though. thats how you could get round it on smartphones. otherwise doing the cid unlock should allow any charmer rom to be installed.

or get hold of ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe
