On the verge of getting a Prophet

I've been a happy C500 owner for quite some time now.

I really am on the verge of ordering a Prophet, as I feel this has been the phone I've been waiting for.

However, I do have a couple more questions for experienced Prophet users (or even Jam users for that matter).

The first one is in regards to size, just how pocketable is this device? Will it fit comfortably in jeans?

The next is one-handed SMS without the stylus. Whilst I know this is possible, is it actually practical? Is the T9 numpad easy to use? I would think that without the tactile response of a key, that it may be difficult to text. Do you use your fingernail as opposed to pressing it with your finger?

And if anyone can do a huge favour and post or point me to some pics showing the size of the Prophet next to the C500, I would appreciate that.

Cheers,

D

Size:

The dimensions are almost identical to the M500 (and hence the JAM), if anything I'd say it's a few MM smaller. It's lighter too, but not by that much.

PhonePad is OK to use one handed, and it's easier without a screen protector on. There isn't any tactile response, so yes it is a little "vague". I use my thumb (and I have fat thumbs) and can generally hit the right button first time - the smaller buttons are harder though.

I haven't tried it, but D9 (a freewar T9 dialer) has a vibrate or beep option (can't remember which) so you get some feel for whether you've actually hit the button, but not which button you hit. You can get it from Handango, but I haven't bothered yet.

I dont have a camera to hand for comparisson shots of C500/Prophet, but maybe someone else can help with that

I have an m500 with screen protector and have no problems using the T9 phone pad to send sms etc..

Although with 2003SE it's easier to find the contact and then send them the SMS from there or it's hard work without the stylus.

I would imagine you'll have no probs with the prophet
