compare mpx220 to Cingular (HTC) 2125

Has anyone used both the Motorola MPX220 and the Cingular (HTC Faraday) 2125? I currently have the MPX220 but the power button is breaking and I think they will replace it with the Cingular 2125. Despite a few startup problems with the 220 I now have it just how I want it and it works great for my needs - mostly Outlook/tasks/notes sync, meeting reminders, good phone, bluetooth and occasional Internet exploring (all in a small package). This was also my first flip phone which I now prefer but I can probably get used to going back to non flip.

If anyone has used both - how does the 2125 compare? Also do enough of the good apps come in Win Mobile 5 yet?

Thanks for any thoughts or advice.

Hi. I've just recently PURCHASED the Cingular 2125 and find it much better. It's faster, I have less problems with Windows Mobile 5.0, and all of the applications I used on the MPX 220, work with the 2125. The only thing I don't like is the fact there's no good cases for the 2125, so I put a screen protector on the screen and just stuff it in my pocket. <smile>

Hope this helps. If you have any specific questions, e-mail me at [email protected]. Thanks.

Greg

I just got my 2125 after my MPx220 to a little bath in the washing machine. here are my first impressions.

The 2125 has better reception, the speaker volume is much better, especially the speakerphone.

The power connection (via usb) is much better than Motorola's crappy clip in connection, which has been tempramental on every motorola phone I've had.

The screen is much much better, higher res and brighter.

The status lights are nice, mpx220 has none.

The only downer is that there is no flash on the phone, but thats not a biggie.

2125 rocks.

Do NOT upgrade ROM from a Hack (it killed mine but I love it so got another!)

I REALLY want AKU 2 for a2dp so I can use my Buletooth headset/headphone but will wait till a fix is released

[email protected]

PS - IF anyone knows of a AKU 2.x with a2dp that actually works, PLEASE notify me

THX, Jim

There is an a2dp that works, but you first have to switch to the imate rom. then there is a link on this thread:

to get the a2dp to work. It does in fact work, I use it with a pair of Motorola stereo headphones, and it is really nice.
