Guest The Undefeated
When I first set the 'today' screen you can see the background image clearly, but when the device turns on, I get a white partially transparent cover over the whole thing. So err, how do I get rid of it permanently?

So err, how do I get rid of it permanently? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actually get the same whitish "filter" when I set my today background. It works fine on the default background image for the theme, but when I select my own image it goes all white/transparent. Regardless of whether its the first time, or after a reset, it just always does it!!! grrr. Unfortunately I resorted to making a new today screen in theme generator every time I wanted a new image... which in the last few months has been about twice so it's a viable fix for me. I don't know of any other way to stop it, or why it's happening! ;) sorry. It may have something to do with a transparency setting of the current today theme tho, although the default image should be funny then. Nope I'm stuck! Sorry! Guest Pigo
Ok.. I have a dutch vario so I'll try to translate it to english. save the image you want on your phone and browse to it using the images and video's application .... tap the image of choice and hold it down.... tap "set as background" and when you do that you get the option to set the transparancy of the picture.... from 0% to a 100% Pigo

I did it that way a while ago but when I read this thread I tried again and couldn't (I was doing it through file explorer and total commander) so I decided I had imagined it! lol Thanks very much for pointing it out tho! Guest mgxplyr
When I first set the 'today' screen you can see the background image clearly, but when the device turns on, I get a white partially transparent cover over the whole thing. So err, how do I get rid of it permanently? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used to have the same thing happen, when I would turn the phone on or standby and turn on, a white screen would pop up for half a second, disappear, and i'd be on my today screne...it was the password protection that was causing it. I had a simple 4-key password enabled after 30mins idle, so I disabled it and no more white flashes. I don't know if its the same in your case..
