Im in Canada .Now the problem is for some reason the iMate Jas jar software shows, the guy whom i bought this phone said that the phone was unlocked and the rom flashed with iMate Jas jar.. here is my rom version : ROm version : 1.12.38.wwe rom date : 08/24/05 Radio version : 1.03.00 Protocol version : 42.36 p8 extrom version : 1.12.120 wwe Now my question is should i install a T-mobile rom update or should i Update the rom with the Latest iMate jasjar Rom update?? Where can i find the latest iMate Jas jar version pls help. can anyone post me a link ? I tried registering my phone on imate.com it doesnt accept my imei number im so lost now and im on FIDO but for some reason the Phone shows that its on Roaming MOde. there is a big TRIANGLE which shows that its on roaming. how do i change that ? i dont want my service provider to charge me with Roaming. I lived in King Street, downtown Toronto for three months before moving to Madison Avenue for 7months in the residential area further north. Toronto, and Canada in general are fantastic, still miss the lifestyle to this day. Don't worry too much with regard your HTC Universal having the Jasjar rom on it. Given you're no longer on T-Mobile it really shouldn't be an issue. Disregard the roaming icon, it's just because the hardware and software consider Canada as abroad. As long as Fido don't agree then you won't be paying roaming. I'd be amazed if they even tried to charge roaming charges. One of the latest roms available for the Universal is the Jasjar rom. Check out the news forum as there was a thread about it recently... ...but if your device is behaving itself you might as well leave it as it is. Guest vineetmittalny Posted March 28, 2006 Report Share Posted March 28, 2006 Hi pondrew thanxs for ur expert comments !!! i would like to add here !! that i dont have any problems as of yet.. but i would love to get an update on the radio version of the rom !! since im on fido and the network coverage aint that great !! i was plannin to upgrade to the latest radio. y day i tried doing that but for some reason it gave me country code error. my second problem since i hard reseted my phone yday.. the phonepad on my phone is weird. instead of Z it types Y and instead of Y it types Z which is exactly like the computer keyboard. do u know how i can tweak this ??? i would want my keyinputs exactly how the keyboard is set on my phone !! Guest Pondrew Posted March 28, 2006 Report Share Posted March 28, 2006 Ok, in order to install a rom not intended for your device, ie install a Jasjar rom on an MDA Pro, the device would first have to be unlocked to any rom. There are tools to do this on other Pocket PC Phone devices but I don't know if they'll work on the HTC Universal. If you want to do some investigation look up a tool on XDA-Developers.com called All_unlock or similar. This tool changes the CID code on your device to factory default and by doing so allows you to install any rom intended for the HTC Universal. My first thought about the keyboard issue was that maybe the hardware keyboard of the German MDA Pro is different to the keyboard layout of whichever country's Jasjar rom you're using... But if you're saying your keyboard was working normally before a hard reset I've not heard of such before. Seems the German MDA Pro has a QWERTZ keyboard layout where most other countries have a QWERTY keyboard... By installing the rom from a QWERTY keyboard'd i-mate Jasjar the keys have been reassigned as such. Unfortunately without doing some surgery (not recommended as it'd void warranty) or reinstalling the MDA Pro Germany rom you'll have to live with it... ...otherwise find out how it is that the keys had been reassigned BEFORE you hard reset. Guest vineetmittalny Posted March 29, 2006 Report Share Posted March 29, 2006 My phone is defly unlocked .... its a t-mobile mda pro and the OS is of Imate jas jar. so im assumin should i go ahead and do a Imate jas Jar latest update ? does anyone know how to get rid of the Roaming ICON? i get this roamin icon.. though im not in roamin area though.. i m assuming this is because the phone is from germany and im in canada? lol i maybe wrong im having some issue with my radio signal... so if anyone can recommend me the right radio rom ?
