Silence

Hi,

I used to have a nokia 8310, which had a feature that I would like to simulate on my PPC phone:

When the phone rang, the soft menu keys became 'Answer' and 'Silence'.

Clicking 'silence' would let the phone continue to ring, but with no sound :

The caller would be unaware that their call was 'silenced' and they would hear it continue to ring until it went to voicemail.

Currently, when my PPC rings, one of the soft menu key options is 'Ignore' but that seems to send the caller straight to voicemail, which might offend.

Any ideas how to replicate this useful feature?

True enough, but then I won't hear any subsequent calls either, until I wait for their call to end and change the volume back again.

No, just by flicking the volume down, mutes the ringer for that call. The device volume doesnt change, and the device will ring as usual for the next call.

It it literally just a 'flick' down of the volume key that is required.

You have to flick it down whilst the phone is ringing and as poster above says - that doesn't change the ringer settings - it simply silences that call.

It is exactly what you are looking for.
