hello, Ive only had my MDA compact II a couple of days and im pretty happy with it.

3 small questions:

1. has anyone got a list of compatible software for it, coz i cant find much at all online
2. is there any way to connect it via USB to a Mac?
3. when i use a jpg for the Today background it it shows compression artifacts despite it being a good quality images, why is that?

1, just check that the software is WM5 compatible, winCE stuff is sometimes ok, there are loads out there

2, sorry cant help, never use mac

3, make sure the file is saved at 320x240 pixels, else the os will shrink/expand it

Try searching Pocket PC, PPC and WM5, most pocket PC and PPC stuff works and all WM5 will work

I'm not sure if there is a sync client to use with mac, however if you use WM5torage you can turn your phone into a USB Mass Storage device which should recognise on Macs and let you copy stuff across.

ive found that most ppc software, doesnt work on WM5

and the mass storage app doesnt work

Personally I've found that most software DOES work on WM5

The mass storage works but probably not on a mac - the mass storage software did seem to screw up my SD but this could have been caused by something else .... after ripping one apart I see they are on a very very flimsy PCB

hmmm ok maybe i need to try more CE software

my SD is a cheap viking 1GB seems pretty good
