As far as I now Samsung have not released an update for the I300. And I'm beginning to think they never will.

no it is not possible im afraid. The only people that can do it are the people who provided you with the phone, however the celluar network would not have released an update if samsung did not give it to them
I300 would not have an upgrade to WM5 but the later models will have WM5
