So - I'm an early adopter...unusual for a Yank eh? I just bought a Motorola Q from Verizon. Please give me some insight how to synch this device using Exchange. I followed the directions completely. The synch process doesn't work. Verizon customer support was totally not helpful. Their tech guy said I was their first tech support call on the Q, and they didn't even have an actual production Q to play with plus their paperwork was based on prototypes. He referred me to Motorola tech support who also had no clue and said it was a Microsoft problem He suggested I call 1-800-Microsoft...as if that were even possible. I've looked at several MSDN blogs and other people seem to have the same problem. Verizon announced the Q with great fanfare and said it was Verizon's mission to deploy as many Q's as Razr's...one would think they would have done a better job of beta testing some production units, training their customer support people and at least have production models on hand. Go figure!

I gather that you are trying to sync with an Exchange server. But did you try to set up ActiveSync with your PC? How did that go?

This may or may not help, but here goes. I had the active sync problem with my moto Q. I disabled my XP firewall, followed motorola site's instructions to the T and still no...

Then I discovered that I had a trend micro "personal firewall" also.

If you are running an antivirus solution with a personal firewall this may very well be your problem. Now my sync works every time.

Good Luck
