  • Interests:The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

Here is how to hard reset the Qtek 500, imate SmartFlip or Dopod S300.

Method #1:
You can just navigate to Clear Storage in your StartMenu, enter 1234 as indicated, then allow the phone to go thru the process.

Method #2
1) Turn Phone Off.
2) Press and hold  the two soft Keys at the same time.
3) Turn the phone on (dont let go of the soft keys.
4) When the screen turns on, immediately release the soft keys.
5) A black screen should come up with white text stating to press 0 to reset device...any other key to exit.

My phone is hanging when i turn it on due to the phone lock (it wont let me enter in the password for some reason) - I am trying to reset using method 2) but it doesnt seem to work - does anyone know of another way to reset my Qtek 8500?  Or perhaps I'm doing something wrong.  Thanks!

Didn't work for me when my phone wouldn't get through the boot cycle without freeing up at a "Notification Error".  My half-arsed but ultimately sucessful technique is covered elsewher in thei Forum under another post.  Sorry about the cross-posting, I missed this one - doh!

The key to the hard reset using the softkeys is to only press the end/power button for a short time.  Then a black screen will come up.  Press 0 and the phone will do a hard reset.

Remember, start by pressing the two softkeys and then press the end/power button for a short time.
