Having seen the latest developments with orange data, I rung them to find out some info about the M3100 - it looks nicer than the vario II version.

Anyway, orange will upgrade me, without a fee, despite the fact my contract doesnt expire until January!  He also said I could have pretty much any phone for free - I suspect the M3100 wont be free but hey!

I spend a lot, but weirdly, im on an old £25 a month, 1000 mins off peak any network tariff - its pretty good value.

He said I can also add the unlimited data bundle to that.

He actually took my number and said he would phone me when the m3100 is out.

The current release date is August 06, but subject to change.  He also said they are usually annouced 5/7 days ahead of launch to OCS so they can read up on it etc.  This hasn't been done yet.

Really helpful guy, and I'm gobsmacked that they will upgrade me, without fee, so early.  I've been a customer for around 10 years on PAYG, and around 4/5 years on contract, but even so.... surprised.  Maybe T Mobile isn't yet the way to go...

Sounds positive, but as usual we will all sit round for weeks on end blathering about what we want, what we've heard, and how crap O is. I for one will be very pleased if I can get this handset for free and unlimited (fixed price, on/off peak) data out of them.

If I can't, I'm going to kick their tits in and move network.

Sod it, I'm going to ring them now.

WOAH nelly... unlimited data bundle?  on orange?  never heard of that!  im considering moving to Tmobile because of WnW...

Can you give me more details about that offer 9or tell me who you spoke to?

For free would be impressive and probably reserved for those who do actually kick up a fuss (ie. ask for there PAC number).

I reckon for the average joe it would be more like £50 for a £30 a month contract , maybe free for a £40. On a £25 or less it's surely going to be £100 or more.

I think it'll start at £80 for a high tariff, and go up to around the £200 mark personally.

There's no bloody way I'm paying for a handset again after all the crap I put up with from O.

I got my M500 for 40 quid but I had that a month before my contract expired. I fully expect to be able to get a M600 for nothing - I wouldn't like to think I'd have to pay for a M3100 either really.

If I can't get unlimited web access I'm going to be really stuck for options.

I still can't decide which handset to go for anyway! What ya reckon?

My contract is also due to expire in January, and my monthly avg is >£100. How did u manage to get them to agree to a free upgrade???

I wouldn't bother with the M600 ..... but the M3100 looks good from where I'm standing
