Hi guys,

just somthing i wanted to put out there, have people here used both Vario 1 and vario 2?

If so what are there thoughts?

i used V1 for about 6 months, then i bought a V2 2 weeks ago and i was very disapointed.

1/ V2 call buttons (green and red) are too small (V2 are great)

2/ V2 D-pad is too small (V1 ust right)

3/ V2 power button on right and close to comms button (V1 on top and on its own so easy to use)

4/ V2 no stereo (V1 two speakers for stereo)

5/ V2 keypad opens easyer than V1

6/ V2 keypad butons square and right next to each other, (V1 sperated so easyer to use)

7/ V2 has lots of bugs still that need patching (V1 is working perectly!)

i know V2 has 3g but id rather wait another 3 seconds for emails if it means avoiding the above.

Not a moan as such (ive already sold my V2!) just wondered what you guys thought! :)

disscuss!

thanks? :D

I have the Vario 1 and a friend of mine has the Vario 2, and to be fair he seems to have a lot more problems than I do. I'd love to have the faster processor, and I'd have to say I prefer the Vario 2 keyboard to use, but I'm not going to upgrade that's for sure.

Actually, come to think of it, I remember there being a few querky things with the Vario 2 keyboard like some special characters being really hard to access. Anyway, I'd have to say I'm more than happy with my Vario 1, but initially considered selling my right arm to buy the Vario 2 when it was first released.

Although I went for a Wizard it was really the Hermes I was looking for when I upgraded but couldn't get hold of one at the time. Much as I love the Wizard with it's slide out keyboard and general WM5 goodness, the drop in processing power from a Prophet stills gets my goat!

That said, if any previous Wizard owners out there are unhappy using a Hermes & are interested in a trade - PM!!

I was the same, i paid top dollar on ebay so i could get the V2 ASAP, but it was a disapointment. :D

i agree the quicker proccesor is better, but as usuall, it all the smaller nagging props, that make the V2 annoying.

leedsrgaskell: i would suggest borrowing a V2 if poss prior to buying (or indeed swaping!) one. I thought it would just be like V1 but quicker + more equipt etc. But unfortunatly i feel alot of the good things from the V1 have been lost.

i wish they had just updated the V1! (with camera and proccessor etc) :)

I would imagine that they will release a new software update soon to address the problems with the Vario 2, i have a Vario 1 and i must admit that now i've installed a different version of the software(the american t mob one with a few of my own mods) it runs fast enough, i've got the boot time to about 35 seconds compared to the 2mins+ with my old tmob uk rom - the point in me saying this is that i'm sure the same will happen with the Vario2, just might have to wait a month or so...
