after two weeks i finally found how to see my SIM contacts on the BlackJack.

this should be the default setting of ALL smartphones, but it is not (why???).

since many people have reported having the same problem, here is the solution:

Ready? take a deep breath...

Home > Start > Settings > Connections > Wireless Manager > Menu > Phone Settings > Call Options > Show SIM Contacts!

i don't think you can reach this setting in any shorter path :)

yey!!!

however there is no options in the MSFT Contact application to copy a contact from the SIM to the phone and vice versa - two options that are available in my basic old Nokia.

The "Menu > Copy Contact" just duplicates a contact, but it it was on the SIM, the copy is also on the SIM.

On my old nokia, editing the contact and adding other data than just one phone number will automatically copy the contact in the phone. on Smartphone, there is no such feature.

:D

There is a faster way.  Press the power button, and you can get to the wireless manager from there.

(my bold)

Why should that be the default?
Who the heck uses SIM contacts nowadays?

Having contacts on your SIM is a hang up from previous generations of phones, and not something that should be encouraged if you ask me

On some i600's that option is missing and SIM contacts are visible by default.
And there is no way to hide them

I have this oprtion missing too. Is this option available in GD1 firmware?
I never use contacts on SIM, it is annoying to see them along with contacts in the phone!

Do you have GD1? If yes, did you flash the phone yourself with GD1? If yes, did you download it from rapidshare, is it the file that is mentioned here?
I have GC6. Is it worth flashing GD1? Which one of the two is newer, which one is better? What are the differences between GC6 and GD1?

GD1 is newer (see here: http://www.modaco.co...=253760&st=60#). I don't see any major differences.
