Guest Paul (MVP)

Thanks to member 'yrreP' for the heads up on this one!

HTC have posted 4 new products online at the HTC Europe Website. They are...

HTC S710 (aka HTC Vox) - "A compact smartphone that comes with an auto-sliding full keyboard. Messaging has never been easier." - more details

Paul says: The coolest Smartphone in town with it's QWERTY sliding keyboard, Windows Mobile 6 and a very compact form factor.

HTC Advantage (aka HTC Athena) - "Step up the mobile ladder with the HTC Advantage. The most powerful mobile office" - more details

Paul says: The feature packed Pocket PC that makes a Universal look compact. 5" screen, TV out, 8GB HDD, detachable QWERTY, Windows Mobile 5 :D

HTC P3400 - (aka HTC Prophet refresh) - "A hard-working PDA phone that is one personal assistant you won’t want to be without." - more details

Paul says: Nothing to see here. Expect a very competitive price point for nothing particularly exciting, although the Prophet always was a great device.

HTC P3350 - (aka HTC Love) - "A feature-packed PDA phone with HTC’s Media Hub that’s in-tune with digital music." - more details

Paul says: Think the HTC Artemis sans-GPS but with more memory. Same love it or hate it trackball and wheel...

HTC have also posted a whole bunch of content online around the newly renamed 'Advantage', at the http://www.seehtc.com/ site.

What's your pick of those 4? I fancy the Vox and perhaps the Advantage (although could you really use one as your main device without looking an idiot?) :)

The Advantage looks good but so does Tosh's G900 - not sure which will replace my Universal. Have to wait to see which, if either, T-Mob get and preferably see them both.

Lots of new phones being announced and I thought WM6 wasn't being announced until tomorrow! lol

Will these all have vista sideshow capabilities? Is that part of WM6? ort a seperate prog? If so could it run on WM5?

After a dearth of new devices we now foind out why - they've all been kept under wrapps until this week!

That's what I thought - do you know if there is anything to stop WM6 apps running on WM5 platforms? Is it likely we could see this app on existing devices?

Lots of nice devices, but what I want to see is what has been mentioned as the HTC Kaiser. I'm waiting for a wizard form-factor device (i.e., slide-out keyboard) but with 3G and GPS built in, and WM6 + a faster CPU. Ideally around April when my current contract expires. :)

Big question - does the launch of 'Advantage' mean there will be no 'Omni', or is this still in the pipeline?

The contract on my XDA Exec ends in July. Hopefully something more like the Universal by then.

I really like the look of the HTC S710 (aka HTC Vox) , will orange release this? I hope so.

Apparently orange will be the first to take on the Vox... I think its going to be called the SPV 650??
