I like to maintain a Day view when I start Calendar, but though I change it each time I open it, it always defaults back to Year view. Is there a way to make the Day view the default?
Also, is there a way to assign Calendar to a hard as opposed to a soft button...finding it tiresome having to return to Today just to access Calendar!

That doesn't sound right - my Calendar remembers the last view. Not sure how to fix it other than a hard reset I guess.
Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure a hard button can be assigned to open Calendar. Is it not in the Buttons menu within Settings?...
