Hi, I've had a second hand cingular MPX220 for about a week.  It's been working fine including daily synchronising with Outlook and installation of third party software.  

Today it hangs at the frist "M" screen, and will not power on further.  This repeats after removing and reinstalling the battery to try again.  The battery has plenty of charge.

The device will show it is charging when the USB cabel is connected.  Also, I was able to do a hard reset and reformat.  Because it will not power on, I can't access activesync to try to update firmware (if that is the problem).

Please help.

You don't need to access activesync to update the firmware - you can use the offline updater tool (PS: Do a thorough search regarding updating the firmware using the Motorola Offline Updater)!!
