SPV M600 hangs on start up

For no known reason my JAM'in has stopped booting up properly today.

It goes past the i-Mate startup-screen and goes on to the Windows Mobile screen, where upon it plays a sound it never used to play. It sounds a little bit like a submarine sonar, once it plays that it doesn't get beyond that point. It just stays on this screen, with the backlight permanently on.

Anyone know what that sounds means?

Are there are any reset / safe mode tricks i can try that aren't going to wipe the memory?

I dunno what the sounds are for. But your gonna have to do a hard reset, and you will loose everything on your phone.

That's why I sync often, and keep anything important on my memory card.
