Does anyone know if the M700 can take a 4Gb mini SD card?

Yes and no...
After my personal research I believe that the standard 4GB MiniSD cards that you get are not long lasting on the Trinity as it is meant to be for cards only up to 2GB. So you might find it works for a month and then the card will start to fail.
The device however is meant to be able to support SDHC, but the problem is that when the Trinity sleeps, the device fails to access all the folders on the card or something.
The best thing to do, and what I'm doing is, stick with 2GB for the time being, and wait for an update or something or until someone's found a certain way of getting it to work.

I second ovies motion there. You're better off sticking with a 2 Gb card until something better comes along. My 4 Gb card was great for the first month then it decided to corrupt itself occasionally on it's own and pretty much is more trouble than it's worth.
