Guest viskas
hallo everybody! I quick question: in wm6 the path to a new sms is even longer than before, because you have to choose menu, messages, menu, new. while in previous wm5, it was one step shorter, beacause you had the "new" key as left key. now there's "delete". anyone knows any software or home plugin to send a new sms in one click?!? Guest Paul (MVP)
Hold down '0' in the inbox to get a list of shortcuts... can't remember if there is one off the top of my head ;) P
Guest RSkillz
1. Go to your inbox and select "menu", "tools" and "options" 2. select "other" 3. uncheck "display account picker when opening Messaging" Another WM6 improvement! ;) Would be nice to change the Delete button in New tho... Maybe some registry editing? Edited April 20, 2007 by RSkillz

Maybe some registry editing? thank you, you make it shorter, but you still have to use several clicks to write a message. on the most stupid samsung, rather than nokia, you a have a "single click" shortcut... :-( paul, thank you! no shortcut in the list to "new". I wonder if any of the engineers who wrote the software ever used the phone... they should hire a couple of teenagers to run usability tests! ;-)
Guest RSkillz
If you open notepad on your PC and the paste the following line: 23#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" and then save it as "SMS.lnk" and copy it to your phone under \windows\start menu you'll have the "old" SMS shortcut directly to your SMS inbox. I know some users tweaked this line to go directly into a new sms, so if someone knows that specific line, it could work.
Guest viskas
thank you Rskillz, this tweak works, and as you said I get to the sms inbox. anyone know how to launch a new sms instead? thank you very much for patience and support!

Guest Terrapin
Best way I've found to send an sms (without installing this patch) seems to be to do a normal contact search for who you want to send it to (as if you were going to call them) - then hit MENU and choose the send sms option. It'll open a new sms with the person you want to send it to already in the TO: field.

Bye I am sorry, I think that this is only good to create a shortcut to new sms. I finish my message using italian. apri un nuovo documento con notepad. quindi lo chiudi salvandolo come: newsms.lnk (L N K) a quel punto metti quel file dentro la directory indicata sopra. spegni e riaccendi e comparirà il comando "new sms" dentro start. ma ancora nessuno ha trovato il modo di sostituire contatti con il comando per il nuovo sms. Guest Tommy Sharp
NP m8, Always trying to help out when I can. Try this line in a shortcut: 20#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to "" -body "" Hey bud.... No matter what I do this simply opens up the message centre to where I last was. I've even gone to the task list and closed all apps. Any other clues?

Guest Espensodal
i just use the kontakt list and choose send message, just as well to look up who its gonna send to at the beginning as any other time, mostly i just use the reply option. i kinda like the delete button, makes things easier at least for me.
