My Vario doesn't seem to be holding its battery charge anymore, when I've completely switched of the device. Last night I switched it off with the battery showing 100% charged at 9pm, only to be woken up at 4 in the morning with the battery alarm going off.

Battery life is ok when switched on.

I've had this phone for around 11 months. Is the backup battery to blame?

You've had it less than a year so why not just send it in for repair, you may get lucky like I did and get a brand new phone, I even got a 'courtesy phone' while it was away!
