Does anyone know if there is an *.exe application on the Samsung i600 that can be pinned to the Start Menu to allow you to turn on/off 3G, so that I can use GPRS most times and then turn on 3G for when I want to use the phone as a modem or use ActiveSync to get my mail?

I had read somewhere that it was possible with another phone but cant remember which, and cant remember the file name.

I have the Orange i600, although I dont think that should make a difference.

Hi there, I use *#1546792*# to get into admin mode, then select Network and call settings, then network mode and select GSM rather than Auto.  It's not very elegant but it does the job.

You can make a shortcut to \Windows\AdminSettings.exe.
Some versions of i600 firmware also have the menu under Settings > Phone > All Calls > Band Selection.
