Paul, I went to http://pdadb.net/ind...p?m=pdacomparer
for a short comparison between tytn and kaiser. Seems that htc is offering limited improvements(the nice sliding panel, nice double hsdpa, hsupa and...gps...well I use gps external module since I bought my tytn) and is taking away some good communication channels(irda out, one umts band out) plus extra weight. Considering this is not an official advertising site for htc I have to ask for a good argument to drop my wm6 tytn for kaiser(the cpu clock speed is also lower but technical specs seems higher as far as I red).

Hey Paul I have a question I've been really concerned about(hope it wasn't already answered).

Does the Kaiser have instant on like the Wizard or does it delay a second or so like the Tytn/8525? This is my biggest complaint with the Tytn. It's so annoying to me. I'll hit the button and if it doesn't come on I'm not sure if I hit it correctly so I hit it again and wait. Maybe small but very annoying to me.

Thanks for all the info! Gettin' this device either way but "instant on" would be nice.

When you turn the device on it comes on as it should no delays.

Hi Paul,

I know that your software build isn't final yet but does the camera app include a GPS stamped photo option like some of the Trinity ROMs?  I love this feature!

Man I got to say, I hope that Kaiser screen is set to it's dimmest...

Also I've been reading that the iPhone screen is virtually unscratchable. Can we get this on our Winmo phones?

juiceppc, i recognise you from somewhere...are you from mypdacafe? anyway, yes, from the video by pc world, it seems that the iphone's screen is hard to scratch, but again i am sure there will be some ways where you can scratch it. also, i have seen a picture of a damaged screen on engadget.

on the kaiser's screen, i believe that the backlight has gone off due to inactivity perhaps....i dunno, only Paul can confirm this.

Paul, does the Kaiser perform better than the Hermes with the WM6 cooked roms?

I haven't really used a Hermes with a cooked ROM.

It performs better than a Trinity running WM6.

i would think the kaiser is faster. being it has it's fast qualcomm 7200 chip, more RAM and ROM, more everything!
thats pretty much comparing 2 wm6 devices, 1 fast and new, and one old and slower.

How does it compare on battery life with the Hermes?  I love my Hermes but I don't use it to anywhere near its full potential (e.g., I never use wifi) as the battery would never last the day!
