Decided to do the firmware as per the wiki page (i600XXGD1) mainly for the carousel. Firmware updated - Samsung splash screen, Carousel (lovely!!) and to my surprise UNLOCKED!!!! I even tried the old sim-swap trick while the phone was still on (worked on an the old SPV's). Have you tried what I did? I was umming and ahhhing for 2 months coz i didn't want to pay orange £20. In the end I thought just pay em - when they told me it could be up to 10 days I said forget it. I did the firmware flash - was well happy with the carousel. Then i thought I'll try my voda sim - blam it worked!! Surprised & chuffed!! Loads of people must have noticed... cmon dit it work for you?
