When i wanted to buy the I600, i liked all the features except the camera, but then i saw on www.mea.samsungmobile.com that the camera had autofocus, i thought that atleast its not that bad... when i got the phone, i didnt know how to turn it on, so i ask, does it have autofocus?

All the specs say it does, but i don't think so.
Or at least, i can't see ANY movement at all in the lens, nor hear anything when releasing the shutter.

And there's practically no delay at all after pressing the button, so i really can't see *when* it would do the auto-focusing...  :)

The lens is pretty much wide-angle so it actually doesn't require autofocus, as everything from 3ft/1mtr will be fine anyway; a consequence of the type of lens used. In marketing speak, it's therefore "auto-focus".

I have the i600 and its pictures are certainly useable but not brilliant.

That's called "fixed-focus" :)

Yes it is.
The same thing was happening a long time ago with compact film (still) cameras. They would advertise them as "auto-focus" when, in reality, they had el cheapo "fixed-focus" lens.
