it seems that there is only one version and one can choose which language he prefers. check out the "upgrade instructions" it also includes screenshots. i've tried downloading the upgrade but my serial number gets rejected for some reason.

can anyone provide a direct link to download?

well my UK serial number worked on the nethrlands website (remember to use the serial number behind your battery NOT the IMEI number of your phone.

I am currentrly waiting for the ROM update to download - sloooooow, it seems to be from a generic US ftp site so I am hoping it is a generic version, but will see how much damage i can inflict on my phone though impatiece of not waiting for the official UK version shortly and report back.

if it works i am not sure what the position is on posting - it is an official update - Paul? Moderators??

Seems a bit odd if it is generic that there should be a delay for the other verisons, unless of course there is some problem with the service providers not being happy about releasing WM6 at no cost. Still this is just speculation.

Let us know how you get on :)

Could we get some general feedback from users who have installed this ROM? I'm particularly interested to see if Skype 2.2 beta for smartphones works with this WM6 ROM? (download here)

well - i still maintain that the link looks completly generic, but I too have the 'wrong version, please check device' message on trying ot install so I guess I will have to wait for the correct version, which probably means waiting for the portuguese version since that's where my phone appears to have been supplied from!!  If anyone has actually managed to instal this and get it up and running, woudl be really interested to hear!!

I have a dutch phone, 'wrong version, please check device' (version i600XXGC2). What kind of version do you need?

i must confess that it slightly puzzled me - the link looks so generic I am wondering if there is problem with the package.  Has ANYONE sucessfully used it?

OK have seen a bunch of posts elsewhere on this (including the unwired again - thanks Arne :-) )  Basically dutch phones have a software version (start>setings>7>7>5) that starts i600UXX.  If your phone has this version you are laughing.  If it stats with anythign else (like i600XXG) you are stuffed, although I am sure the XXG version will appear soon or else someone will work out a way to change the software version number on the phone or patch the updater if anyone is that desperate!
