Sounds like IE is using WAP to connect and your "general" data connection is not working

I don't have a WM6 device to hand to test, but in the menu of IE you should be able to find a "Connection" setting, which will tell you what type of connection it's using.

Check your GPRS settings (Settings, Connections, GPRS... on WM5 it is anyway)

I'm pretty sure you don't need the proxy settings (unless its specific to the T-Zones hack). I have a Vox on T-mobile as well, I pay for the total internet package. In the GPRS settings I have similar settings except Connect To -> The Internet and the access point is wap.voicestream.com. I have no proxy settings.

I dont have MMS set up cause I dont use it, but I know if you have total internet package, then you don't need the proxy. I think T-Mobile told you the settings that would only allow you to use the wap network because they have been trying to close the loophole that allows people to only pay for T-Zones but get the full internet. Technically your not supposed to get the whole internet if you only Pay for T-zones.

Hope this helps.
