on my mda vario there was a program called soft key that let you redefine the softkeys! no sign of it on my orbit.  I want to have new task and new sms on the today screen for softkeys.

anyone know where I can find it or how to change them?

If you still have your Vario I think you can take the file 'SoftKeyApplet.cpl' from '\Windows', paste it into '\Windows' on your Orbit, soft-reset and it should appear in the settings menu

Brill- that works a treat.

Only problem is that it does not seem to let me select 'New SMS' and 'New Task' as the soft keys.  They don't even appear as options to be chosen.

Is there a way to make those - I have a feeling I downloaded something wehich gasve me a whole lot more shortcuts than came with the Vario.  Do you have any more insights?

one thing that springs to mind is WM5NewMenu, excellent software and at a great price of FREE
