Hello to all,
I wanted to reopen the topic once more about this phone so here is the question.

Is there any way of unlocking this phone without paying $20-$40. No imei check and no going to cingular. I ended up selling this phone when it first came out because I couldn't get it unlocked and that was a year ago.

I think the question is how to SIM unlock the phone w/o any fee :-(
I badly need the procedure as well.

EDIT 12/27:

You may want to check this post from jockyw in xda-dev, he said just sent him some files and unique ID and he can unlock the phone. PM him and he'll reply with an offer (I havent' tried it though)

You can do it for $9.5 or so on eBay, I paid for one but only to find out my phone came already unlocked
Not sure if the seller is willing to refund, PM if you're insterested, at cost via PayPal
