Hi,

I update my rom to GD1 to be allowed to install WM6 French.
I install WM6.

My phone is a QWERTY phone that I bought in Asia.

But now my phone is working under AZERTY.

Do you have any idea how to change it to QWERTY and keep french language?

Thank you

Hi,
here is the solution I found and it seems to be working :

1 - you need a regitry editor. One that is running on the phone, since the ones that are running on the PC cannot change the key that we need to change.
I used this software : sktools
http://s-k-tools.com...ols/m_feat.html

2 - you need to edit the following key
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010409\Mapping ID
on my i600, the value was   1036. I turned it to 1033 (US)
you can check the list of ID here :
http://www.microsoft...xp/xp-lcid.mspx
(colomn LCIDDec)

3 - reboot

then it should work.
On my i600 coming from Africa, the letters are ok, but the symbols are wrong, I will try to find the correct. I guess that you would have to do the same for your phone.

regards

Thank you very much for your help. it work great except for symbols. But I find the code 2057 (English UK). Everything is working great, except the EURO symbol on letter H, it make a pound symbol, but I dont care, I dont use it a lot.

Thank You very much.

PS: I did not find the button "solved" for this post.

It is 1040 for me (Italian_Standard  ) so I set it to 1038 (hungarian). But it won't allow me to change it... I use Resco Registry editor.
If I use external editor, it is Access Denied.
I can't edit any registry keys under HKLM\System...

Hello,

I recently installed an arabic language support software on my i600, but ended up losing the French support in the process.....so I now have an AZERTY keyboard but QWERTY input (phone now only supports UK English, US English and Arabic).
I'd like to get back the French language support as well as AZERTY keyboard recognition (without losing the Arabic).

I justed wanted to check whether this solution is valid for samsung i 600 smartphones (i get a message when I try to install sktool warning me that it isn't compatible with WM5 and asking me if I really want to install the programme.)

Many thanks in advance

F.
