The Shadow has 2 keypads -- the buttons around the scroll wheel/d-pad and the slide-out keypad. Ideally, when I hit a button on either keypad, the lights for both would come on. When the device is slid open, both sets of buttons should work like 1 keypad, not 2. In low light, you can't really see the navigation buttons when they aren't lit, and you need to while you're typing.

Wasn't able to find anything in the registry for this -- any ideas?

Yeah, that would make sense. Does the Shadow have a light sensor btw?

I don't believe it does, don't see mention of it in the manual and haven't noticed anything that would indicate it does.
