And I'm new to smartphones. I figure this is a good place to ask where should I start as far as changing something/cool applications go. I tried to download one of the ones that was stickied above, but i'm having trouble understanding how to exactly put it on my phone.

Hi -- while this sub-forum is relatively new, MoDaCo itself has been around for a while offers a bounty of information.  Your best bet would be to start exploring here: http://www.modaco.co...n-Touchscreen-/

If it's an EXE, you generally run it on your PC (Vito CopyPaste is an exception, you run this on your phone).

If it's a CAB, you run it on your phone to install.
