I hate how unorganized the Start Menu is, with items that I rarely use at the the very top, while the ones I use most are down at the bottom. How can I rearange them?

I haven't tried it myself but I ran across it which changing the start menu from icon view to list view. If you look under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell\StartMenu on the registry, there is a Multi Line String key called Order. It lists the first 23 apps that was preinstalled on every Shadow. I believe you can rearrange your start menu here. Again, I haven't tried it so can't be sure if it works so you might want to back up the registry before messing with it. Have fun! :(

I tried this ... and now my Start Menu has completely disappeared. I did a soft reboot, still gone. I even went back and replaced the Order to the default, and my Start Menu is still gone. "Gone" means that when I press the Start soft button, I just get the background, and the More and Menu soft keys .. .which don't do anything either. HELP anyone?

A good program I found that greatly improves the start menu is "Smart Toolkit"

It gives the start menu a Vista / XP look, sorts the start menu alphabetically and adds some other cool functions. Also, it is an application and you will not have to edit your registry. I downloaded it from the following link: http://www.smartphone-freeware.com/downloa...-1-00-rc07.html

A side note:

If you would like to remove (or add) items to/from your start menu, you can navigate to:

\Windows\Start Menu (on the device)

Here you can add and remove shortcuts to applications as well as add new folders to organize your start menu.

I have done this and it has worked just fine.

Just make sure to keep a backup of anything that you are changing incase you need to reverse the changes.

Good luck!

Will this work with the Neo theme though? And how hard is it to reverse it if I don't like it?

If you are referring to Smart Toolkit, it will work with any theme. It is a launcher/startmenu replacement with extra features. Install it and if you don't like it then all you need to do is remove it.

In regards to changing the files in "\Windows\Start Menu", this is not very complicated and if you backup all the files prior to making any changes it is very easy to reverse. As for the Neo theme, it probably will not change anything in the layout of the theme, just in the start menu. This was very beneficial to me when adding applications that are just .exe and run on the phone. Placing a shortcut for them in the start menu made them easier to navigate to. Also, I was able to create some folders to manage the applications that are not used as often and to keep them in a more logical folder system.
