Guest Paul (MVP)
T-Mobile UK are to launch the HTC Dual as the T-Mobile 'Touch Plus'! Specs are identical to the HTC device (3G / HSDPA, 400MHz processor, 256MB ROM / RAM), which also means no WiFi and no GPS. Like Orange, T-Mobile wil be offering the 12 key version. Want to check out the user guide? Here it is! The bad news? Due to Orange's exclusivity clause, I wouldn't expect the device to hit the streets before January :( P

Thats what I was thinking. So hopefully if this story is true it should be available in a couple of weeks. So glad its coming out on T-mobile. I really couldnt see the point of having such a slick, powerful smartphone with Orange's pathetic data packages. Guest Rimjaw
oh no! oh no oh no oh no.... I've just recieved my shiny new touch dual from orange, having cancelled my tmobile contract a couple of days ago when the guy in retentions told me that the WOULDN'T be getting the touch dual. Now I'm on orange with their pathetic data tarrifs... Oh what to do what to do!!!!
Guest Paul (MVP)
You have a cooling off period no? P
Guest Rimjaw
v true... bought online so I'vwe got 7 working days from receipt to cancel it. I'd left T-mob cos I fould their signal was pretty terrible compared to Orange... but all that unlimited browsing is just too tempting! The so do I stick with orange and just hope that they get the idea about providing better data packages... or do I return to t-mob with my tail between my legs and put up with occasionally poor reception in exchange for all the browsing I can fit into a day... :(

Guest Rimjaw
Can you wait until Jan for the device too :( P That's a serious consideration!! I've been waiting for this phone to come out for SOOOOO long now. I've been waiting for someone to finally invent a phone with this spec WITHOUT and qwerty keyboard for ages. Every time I thought one was about to come out, it'd be non 3G or it would have a keypad, but then double it's size by sticking on a slide out qwerty. I thought my dreams were going to be dashed when I though this might come out with a suretype pad, so as soon as it turned out it didn't I HAD to have it. and now I've got it... I don't know what I can stand to give it up again for another 6 weeks!
Guest Zach2k
Looking through the manual I think there are some encouraging signs that a release may be imminent: 1 - firstly the fact that the manual itself is all done and ready 2 - looking at the screenshots within the manual, the t-mobile software appears to be installed and displayed functioning 3 - the picture above of the touch dua...erm, plus :( with the t-mobile logo on it. I have to say I kind of agree with the 16 key comment above. Why is everyone so obsessed with a 20 key QWERTY keyboard? If it was one letter to a key (such as on the Tytans) I could understand, but a 20 keypad wouldnt have that, you'd have to tap a button 1-3 times so why not stick to the tried and trusted 16 key version? Heck of a lot faster when texting too I'd imagine.
Guest Paul (MVP)
Au contraire, I like the 20 key version as it predicts the correct word in T9 mode a lot more often than the 12 key! Having had the 20 key shadow, i'm sold :( P
Guest rav1patel
am loving my touch dual. switched back to orange from t-mobile for it and although the data's a bit crap i don't regret it. theres no way i could personally wait another month for it. also don't understand the fascination with the 20 key version. good old 12 key does the job fine. hardly ever use the qwerty on my e650. Guest greenturtle
Touch Plus *DROOL* T-mobile told me yesterday that "T-mobile has no plans to release the Touch Dual". Urh? Im stuck now, I can either use my 40% monthly line rental discount that I found out about today and get the Touch Dual on Orange for CHEAP or wait for T-mobile and pay the full price but with fantastic data. Damn this thing for not having wifi. Help :(
Guest J273
Ive just bought the HTC branded version of this..16key I would of though the 16keys better due to it having the extra keys which the 20 key dont.
Guest Monolithix
Everyone having problems speaking to TMobile about this, are you asking for the Touch Dual or the Touch Plus? Presumably if they try to look up the Dual their systems will report its not available on their network...
Guest prajith
those call buttons look better than that on the HTC version.

Obviously T-Mobile lack creative thinking to search for "Touch something-rather"...
Guest Dr Who
Given the choice would people prefer the Touch or the Dual (plus, yada)? I saw the purple version of the Touch for the first time over the weekend having paid little attention to phones lately and was impressed by the size of it and it felt nice in the hand. Is the Dual much bigger?
Guest Monolithix
Nope, similar WxH, few mm thicker...Your local Orange shop should have both on display?
Guest greenturtle
Dual isnt as wide and is taller. I'm going to take in out on Orange Dolphin and with my Discount it totals to: £21 a month 500 minutes, Unlimited Texts and free Internet Browsing any time for 12 months (: Edited December 4, 2007 by greenturtle

Not sure what shop I was in - it was purple so does that mean O2? I will try and force myself across the threshold of an Orange shop next time I pass.
