I have a GPSlim20 BT GPS receiver and Tomtom 6 installed into my device. I can get it to work when Iam at home for example it tells me my current location and everything. But when im on the move in my car it doesnt work, all it says is "waiting for a valid GPS signal".

What is the problem here? I had someone else to install the software into the phone and everything ..so i have no clue.

Also in Settings>Connections>GPRS Setting>.. what is PAP and CHAP authentication. Mine has selected PAP.

Any help is much appreciated.. i really need this to work

thanks

If TomTom says 'Waiting for a Valid GPS signal;' it means it has connected correctly to the receiver but hasn't got any satellite data. This mens that either you haven't given the receiver enough time to get a fix, or it is unable to get a fix. Fix times are increased dramatically once on the move, so always wait for a fix before starting a journey.

What tyep of car are you using? Some cars have a special U/V shielding inside the windscreen, or some have heatewd windscreen elements, both of which prevent GPS signals getting through. If that's the case, you need an external antenna.

Don't confuse GPS (Satellite) and GPRS (Phone data) settings- whatever your GPRS settigns were by default should not be changed.
