I want to use my BJ2 as a PDA w/o installing the sims card.  Downloaded the Com4 Port hack, then downloaded Google Maps, had no problems at all.........at first.  It found 5 satellites and my location, gave me directions the whole nine yards.  Then the next morning brought it up again & it gives me a screen saying it needs a data plan for the GPS to work.
I did (perhaps foolishly) click on traffic check.
My intention is to use this as a SkiCaddie for golf, not for an internet connection.
Any ideas?  Thanks

Google Maps does rely on the internet.  It does not store any maps locally, therefore loads them from the network.  I'd recommend using an application like "GPSvp" as it can load custom maps locally and is more suited for use without a network connection.
