I've just changed from BT to Sky and I'm trying to set up the emails on my phone. Added the new Sky account in messaging, all set up, when i click send/receive it will log on, look for changes, and then log off.

It won't however, download the email in the inbox. I have enabled POP in my Sky email account, selected for the phone to download all messages.....but still it wont send ot download emails.

Anyone use Sky on their Kaiser or know of any possible solutions?

Delete your existing Sky account(s) off your Kaiser. Then use the set up new e mail account option on your device. Enter your [email protected] and let it search for the settings.

Enter the same pop settings as per the instruction from Sky pop.tools.sky.com etc. Tick "Outgoing server requires authentication" and tick "use same user name and password".

Under advanced settings, tick both require ssl for incoming mail and outgoing email.

As my phone deceided to delete all my email accounts, i once again can not get my sky email to work. Keeps getting error "Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your email account settings are correct. Then, try to download messages again"

All settings are correct, not sure what the issue is!

I had a helluva game setting Sky.com email up initially.

My advice - don't allow it to search for settings automatically. Set them yourself using the POP / IMAP settings listed. You don't need to worry about the port numbers, those will go in on their own anyway. Also, don't be concerned that your password appears many characters longer than when you first put it in - that's where the port numbers get incorporated. You'll need SSL ticked, and as Arcam said, Outgoing Server needs authentication using same username and password.

Other than that, you should be up and running. I tend to use IMAP settings because otherwise I don't get emails downloading to my PC as well in Outlook 2007 (also using IMAP) - POP3 will only d/l the emails once. If you really feel the need to use POP and use another email client, add the prefix RECENT: before your username in the setup - beware though - if you don't set a limit to how many days email you want on your phone, that prefix will see everything hurtle in from the year dot onwards!

Good luck, do let me know how you get on.

:D

[EDIT] Here's my thread on it from way back in January

You're sure you're putting the pop.tools.sky.com & smtp.tools.sky.com in manually? It's working fine on my Vario II with WM6, as long as I don't let it find settings automatically (it only finds the old settings pre Skoogle Mail, ie when Sky still used its own servers rather than Google's).

If it isn't working, I can only suggest a hard reset and start again... :D
