I just got a Touch Pro, after the Kaiser and Hermes before it. I hated it for the first day - but am liking it more and more now.

Plus points
- Gorgeous screen
- Just about breast-pocket size
- Touch-keyboard/pad actually works, almost as responsively as the iPhone
- Landscape-Portrait transition similarly swift
- UI and general aesthetics ARE nice... I'm more a function-over-form kind of guy, but this is quite a nice device


Down points
- Jogwheel is sorely missed - drag-scrolling on the screen is a sure recipe for thumb RSI
- Only one programmable hardware button!?!
- Only one OK button
- D-pad is a pain to use - Left-Right tricky to press without mispressing Select/Dial/Hangup instead
- Basic functions, like camera, can take a lot of laborious navigating to get to
- SMS key on keyboard takes you far away from your email if you accidentally hit it
- Some TouchFlo panes are useless: Email/SMS panes are flash but impractical, for example


Of course, maybe I should have waited for the SEX1... I guess I'll hold out for more reviews...

I went down to the local Vodafone store and finally had a hands on with the Touch Pro.  I was concerned about the size, and I insist on pocketability.  What surprised me is that it's almost the same size as my Vox, which I love.  The only difference in size seemed to be that the corners on the Vox are more rounded, but overall, when I compared them side by side, they are almost exactly the same.

So, this decision seems to be getting easier all the time.  The Touch Pro is pocketable and roughly the same size as my Vox, but has a much bigger screen and all the major improvements in hardware and the power of WM Professional.  All I'm losing is the dedicated keyboard, which I'm sure I'll get used to the touchscreen pretty quickly.  I've had a smartphone style phone since 2003.  Will I finally make the PPC jump before Christmas?  Probably.

I am a little concerned about the speaker volume issue I read about some people having.  I can be a bit deaf in all but quiet surroundings.  The Vox has always been plenty loud for me.

Anyone want to add some comments regarding TP volume and how you think it compares?

I'm guessing he means the dedicated number pad on the front of the device rather than the QWERTY

Got a TP in exchange of Omnia
I'm much happier now... MUCH MORE sensitive screen, screen resolution is awesome, keyboard is very cool, xda forums is superb.

Im just missing the camera and the great omnia flash

Have an Omnia and loving it but have a TP on the way. Waiting to compare the 2 for functionality. Never had a slide out qwerty so looking forward to it. Also ordered a 16gb micro so not have to miss Omnia flash. Worried that I will covet and keep both

Had it for a week now and it rocks . Feels like my N95 did in my hand but it has WinMo and the sweet qwerty But my Omnia rocks too!!!! so I am keeping both

I've had a Fuze (AT&T version of the Touch Pro) for about a week, and I like it overall. It's a huge upgrade from my Blackjack II (which I adored), and web browsing is no longer cumbersome due to a slow CPU and only a d-pad/wheel to control with. Also, It's nice to have a camera that doesn't make everything look like it's been dithered down to 256 colors, and can handle my caffiene-addled shakes.

My complaints:

• While I'm pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness and usability of TouchFLO, it's awfully crashy on the mail tab. It almost consistently crashes (and restarts) when I delete a message and do a send/receive. Every other tab seems to be fine, though.
  
• I can't seem to switch my onscreen keyboard to a phone keypad with T9. No matter how many times I change the option in the control panel, it never actually takes effect, and I'm stuck with a full QWERTY layout.
  
• The GPS just flat out sucks compared to the one in the BJ2, and it's substantially worse with A-GPS turned on (I guess the A stands for Ass). Once I got a signal lock with the Blackjack II, I could go 10 miles below the Earth into a concrete bunker and it'd tell me where the toilets and the emergency supplies were. With the Fuze, all I have to do is say "clouds" and I get a lost reception. With A-GPS off, the signal loss happens less frequently, but still close to 5-10 times on a regular drive (I live in Atlanta, so a regular drive is around 100 miles).
  
• Why do only like 3 apps use the accelerometer?
  
• Sometimes, I can't turn off the alarm after it goes off, forcing me to reset my phone. I can disable it and everything, but it just keeps going off.

Overall, it's a nice phone, and I'm glad to have it, but it's going to be the impetus to get a full fledged GPS unit for my car, because the one in this phone is just worthless.
